Individual, Family and Couples Therapy
CMHSS staff offer high-quality, integrated mental health and supportive services to a diverse population of adults, children and families.
Our therapists provide in-depth individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy on a generous sliding scale. Thanks to our donors, government grants, and NCJW|LA’s Council Thrift Shop donations, our clinicians have the flexibility to tailor treatment to meet the specific needs of our clients, offering ongoing weekly treatment often free of charge.
All psychotherapy services are provided in English and Spanish, as well as in other languages when possible.
To inquire about receiving psychotherapy services please call our intake line at 323-556-3584.

Community Psychiatry Resource Program
Our Community Psychiatry Resource program provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management and financial assistance for purchasing prescribed medication to CMHSS psychotherapy clients and eligible clients of West Hollywood partner agencies. Clients are also connected with ongoing affordable psychiatric services at the end of their maximum one year CPR program enrollment. The CPR program was created to offer high quality outpatient psychiatric care to clients who are lacking funds and coverage. Clients are often in between coverage or in the process or stabilizing and these services are critical to their care.
West Hollywood Rental Assistance:
If you are a resident of the City of West Hollywood and in need of rental assistance call 323-852-7306. Please note that these services are only for people residing in the City of West Hollywood.
Groups and Workshops:
CMHSS offers process groups as well as mindfulness workshops focused on skill development.
Process groups: Our process groups are an excellent way for participants to explore and share experiences, feelings and hopes with others who are facing similar challenges. Participants develop coping skills and discover new strengths. Our groups address issues such as transitions, loss, relationship challenges while also cultivating self-compassion, awareness and resilience. We are currently offering an ongoing women’s process group. For more information click here:
Mindfulness Workshops: CMHSS offers the flagship mindfulness program: Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) which is an in-depth eight week course in meditative awareness designed to help participants effectively manage a variety of stress-related conditions including anxiety. This program is based on the pioneering work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. at the UMass Medical Center.
In addition, CMHSS offers Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) an empirically-based 8-week program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. Based on the groundbreaking research of Dr. Kristin Neff and the clinical expertise of Dr. Chistopher Germer, MSC teaches core principles and practices that enable participants to respond to difficult moments in their lives with kindness care and understanding.
CMHSS therapists also work in school settings teaching the Mindful School curriculum to teachers, parents and students.
